- I'm not sure if this might be of help but I have a Compaq 425 and
- recently upgraded my 2400 built-in modem to a Cardinal 28,800. called
- Compaq's 900 number (screw them for charging me for help!!!!) and was
- told to go into my C-MOS and disable my serial port (note: there is two
- lines in there-one for a modem and one for the port). After disabling
- the two lines (not deleating!) the Cardinal worked fine after I installed
- a new I/O card (the 425 had a 8250 UART). Don't know enough to say if
- this might help but that's what I had to do.
